What kind of background and screening checks can you do on your own for a caregiver?
All People Care Services caregivers undergo thorough screening, including criminal background and vulnerable sector checks. We also verify educational credentials and ensure every nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses — both upon hire and annually. When hiring a private caregiver, you’ll need to handle these background and credential checks yourself.
If my caregiver is unavailable, who will fill in?
At People Care Services, we guarantee continuity of care. If your regular caregiver becomes unavailable, we’ll provide a qualified replacement and notify you right away. With a private caregiver, finding a replacement on short notice can be challenging and may leave care gaps.
Will I have the same caregiver or nurse all the time?
At People Care Services, we prioritize consistency in care by assigning regular caregivers to each client. Our goal is to create the perfect match based on your unique needs, personality, hobbies, and interests. We believe caregiver consistency is key to building trust, fostering meaningful relationships, and delivering compassionate, personalized care every day.
Are your home care services only for the elderly?
No, our home health care services are available for people of all ages — from newborns to seniors. While we specialize in supporting seniors through our Happier Aging® approach, we also provide personalized care for children and adults with disabilities, post-operative recovery support, health monitoring, and a variety of other services tailored to any age group.
Can I just try out People Care Services, or do I have to sign a long-term contract?
You are not required to commit to a long-term contract. You can cancel our services at any time — we simply ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel without any cost.
